Submission Guidelines

LMS welcomes original, interdisciplinary scholarship that critically examines the intersections between language, media technologies, discourse, and social life. We encourage submissions from early-career scholars, independent researchers, and practitioners whose work engages with communication in global and local contexts. We are an open-access, peer-reviewed journal with a commitment to double-blind review, ethical publishing, and platform equity.

Please email your submission to submission@journaloflms.com, including:

  1. One full manuscript with author information (for internal record-keeping)

  2. One anonymous version (for double-blind peer review)

Formatting Requirements

  • Submit your manuscript as a `.doc` or `.docx` file

  • Include a title page with the following information (this will be removed before peer review):

  • Full article title  

  • Author(s)’ name(s), affiliation(s), and email(s)  

  • Abstract (150–250 words)  

  • 4–7 keywords

  • You may use any recognized academic citation style (e.g., APA, MLA, Chicago, Harvard, etc.) as long as it is used consistently and correctly throughout the manuscript.

  • Submissions should be double-spaced, 12pt font, with 1-inch (2.54 cm) margins.

  • We welcome images, tables, figures, and media links where appropriate. Please include captions and cite sources clearly.

Length Guideline

  • Research Articles: 6,000–9,000 words (including references, excluding appendices)

  • Theoretical Essays / Critical Reflections: 3,000–6,000 words

  • Book Reviews / Interviews / Commentaries: 1,500–3,000 words

  • Experimental / Multimedia Submissions: flexible length; please consult the editors in advance

Author Submission Declaration

  • By submitting to *Language, Media and Society*, authors confirm that:

  • The work is original, not published elsewhere, and not under review at another journal

  • All authors listed have contributed to the work and approved the final manuscript

  • The manuscript is prepared for double-blind peer review with all identifying information removed

  • The submission adheres to basic formatting and ethical citation principles

  • If accepted, the article will be published open access under a CC BY-NC 4.0 license
